Yoko Ono has gotten herself involved in the debate on gun control.
And the widow of John Lennon is using the memory of her late husband to help get her point across.
In a series of Tweets, Ono sent messages to her 3.7 million followers that included the image of Lennon's bloody glasses, which were removed after his shooting in 1980 and first published on the cover of the 1981 album "Season of Glass."
"Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on 8 Dec 1980," Ono wrote. "31,537 people are killed by guns in the USA every year. We are turning this beautiful country into war zone."
Ono concluded her Tweets by writing "the death of a loved one is a hollowing experience."
She also directed a few posts to Piers Morgan and Michael Moore, among others.
Where do you stand? Should there be major control legislation?
